How To Connect Contact Form With eMail on SiteGround

This video will walk you through the steps of connecting your template form to your SiteGround eMail.

Are you looking for a way to connect the contact form of your WordPress site to the email that you created with Siteground?

You should have a contact form on your website so visitors can easily get in touch with you. Although WordPress site doesn’t come with a built-in contact form by default, you can easily add one.

This WordPress tutorial blog is all about how to easily connect the contact form to the email that you create with Siteground (step by step) without touching a single line of code.

Siteground accounts come with a free email so you can create unlimited email addresses. This tutorial geared toward users that followed one of the step by step template tutorials where we made the template site with SiteGround hosting.

SiteGround Hosting

If you need quality hosting with free email, you can’t beat SiteGround. My partner link will get you the best deal, and you can thank me for making this free tutorial at the same time.

Sounds good, right? Alright, so let’s get started.

Below is an example of a WordPress contact form that we will connect to email.

To begin with, firstly open your SiteGround account and dashboard

Create a new email account

Now go ahead and create the email by going to > websites.

Now, choose the website for which you would like to create an email account, and click on > Site Tools of the domain that the website you made then go to > Email Accounts.

So, to create a new email account, go to email on the side accounts and go ahead and create the email account and a strong password. After filling in the information, click Create and your new email will get ready in a few seconds.

After you create it. You’ll see under Actions the little three dots, where you need to log into your webmail so click on > Login to webmail. (This section also provides quick and easy access to webmail)

Moreover, to manage the Email Accounts you can go in the Manage Email Accounts section below, you can also manage settings for every email account you create. The Actions menu (next to the corresponding email account) > Change Quota lets you specify different values for your email quota without exceeding the current limits, which are set at 10 000 MB per email account.

Then you also get mail configuration where you can also configure your email automatically or manually.

Install WP Forms Plugin If Needed

So, these settings will be used for your WordPress site. So now go back to your WordPress dashboard.

You’ll see that the template created a form and it installed the plugin WP forms.

In case your template site did not create a form for you, you can actually just install the WP forms plugin and that’ll be under plugins > add new

Now you just need to install and activate it once you create a new form under WP forms click on > add new.

The template contact form should be under “All Forms.”

Connecting Template Form To eMail

If you don’t have a template form, easily create one under WPForms, Add New.

If you followed the template tutorial, there is one ready in your site, ready to connect.

So now that you have your form on your site. On the sidebar, select WP forms > SMTP. Then install another plugin, WP Mail SMTP.

>>The setup wizard gets started.

All right now you’re going to use the SMTP from SiteGround so choose and click on > Other SMTP.

This is the essential step. Use the settings from your SiteGround mail configuration, manual settings, and put them in the form. Use outgoing server for SMTP Host, and copy the details from there into encryption and then select > SSL and make sure the port is correct.

Fill in your SMTP username and password from when you created the email account. That will be the name of your website. And the email address will be your WordPress email address. So, this will be the same email address from which your WordPress site will send emails.

(You can also create another email account on siteground to use as your personal email account as well).

And click on > Force From Email and then the email is going to be the same WordPress email that you just filled in. Then click on > Save and Continue.

Then you can skip the rest of the steps because they aren’t necessary so select the > Skip option and proceed to the final step. And you’ll finally see “Congrats, you’ve successfully set up WP Mail and SMTP!”.

Then click on > Finish Setup.

Moving further, to test this out, go to your dashboard and under WP Mail SMTP > Click on > EmailTest.

Send it to the WordPress email (it will be like sending it to itself). You can also put your own email (such as your Gmail account).

Then you’ll see under Domain Check Results “success! The SPF record required by your SMTP setup and working correctly” so yeah that means it worked.

There’s also an optional additional step if you want to take it. If you click that guide, it will show you how to fill out one of those records for your siteground account. You can also get more information by clicking on it. It will redirect you to some tutorials on “how to add records if you want to add one.”

Now, go to your email on siteground to make sure it worked.

Go to > Actions Login.

And this is how it appears. You can see it worked as it sends you a text email and it also sends an Html email.

Now you just need to make sure that the contact form is correct so go back to your WordPress dashboard under WP forms > All Forms

You can see your Contact Form that the template site created for you. Then go to > Edit

and then click on > Settings on the side then go to > Notifications

It’ll send the form to the admin email so add to that by adding a comma and pasting in the same email. Then fill the subject line. The subject line can be whatever you want but when you get it it’ll display as “form sent by a visitor’. The name on the email is already forced with the other plugin and the from email is already forced with the other plugin too so we can’t even change those and then reply to whatever the user filled in. Now go ahead and save.

To try it out on your site. Exit out of the plug-in and go to the Site.

All right, now go and fill in some stuff in the Contact Form and fill something in the body of it as well and then click on > Send.

Now when you go back to your siteground > Email Actions Webmail, you’ll see a notification something like “From sent by visitor”.

If you want to receive this notification in your Gmail or personal email, simply change the email address under Notifications.

Alternatively, you can connect your SiteGround email to your personnel gmail account, and control both emails from the gmail app.
